TNT has whacked Mob City.
Frank Darabont’s follow-up to The Walking Dead launched in November to huge buzz but disappointing ratings; roughly 2 million viewers caught the two-hour opener.
Mob City was created as a three-week television event and we are incredibly proud of the six hours we presented of this remarkable drama,” a Turner rep said in a statement. “Although the ratings of the limited series haven’t warranted more hours we are eager to work with Frank Darabont again and were delighted to bring the vibrant world of Mob City to life.”

Arclight Films announced today in Berlin the world market launch of their upcoming crime thriller Tell. The project will star Milo Ventimiglia (“Heroes,” Grace of Monaco), Katee Sackhoff (Riddick, “Battlestar Galactica”) and Jason Lee (“My Name Is Earl,” Alvin and the Chipmunks) with supporting roles for Alan Tudyk (Frozen42), Robert Patrick (Terminator 2Identity Thief), John Michael Higgins (Yes ManBad Teacher) and Oscar Nuñez (“The Office,” The Proposal).

“We are eager to introduce ‘Tell’ to buyers for the very first time in Berlin, a uniquely-original and smart crime-thriller that interweaves subtle yet striking humor throughout its adrenaline-charged ride.” said Clay Epstein, SVP Sales and Acquisitions for Arclight Films. “The result is a commercially viable film that will appeal to audiences around the globe.”

Tell’s story unfolds as small-time criminal, Ethan Tell (Ventimiglia), makes it big when he pulls off an intricate $1 million heist. Tell soon learns that his problems are only beginning as his ex-wife Beverly (Sackhoff), a partner he betrayed, his parole officer and two corrupt detectives try to take the money for themselves. Tell must carefully maneuver through his feelings for Beverly and the incessant threats from opportunistic foes to recover the cash and disappear.

“Arclight Films understands the world market and has successes in getting great films to audiences,” said producer and lead actor Milo Ventimiglia. “We’re excited to be working with them.”

“Arclight’s passion for ‘Tell’ has been evident since day one,” continued producer Kevin Mann, “and we look forward to working with Clay Epstein and his team to sell the film throughout the world.”

Tell is produced by Kevin Mann, Matt Perniciaro and Christopher Boyd of Haven Entertainment and Milo Ventimiglia and Russ Cundiff of DiVide Pictures. Mauricio Betancur, Rick Matros and George Voskericyan are executive producers.

The film is currently in post-production and is slated for a summer 2014 release.

The Weinstein Co. has removed Nicole Kidman’s “Grace of Monaco” from its March 14 U.S. release date. No new date has been set.

TWC did not disclose why it pulled the film, but director Olivier Dahan has publicly clashed with the company over the biopic. He told French publication Libération that Harvey Weinstein wanted unreasonable cuts to his film that centers around a political dispute between Prince Rainier III and France’s Charles De Gaulle after the producer announced he was moving “Grace” out of the Nov. 27 slot because he didn’t feel it was ready.

Dahan directed from a screenplay by Arash Amel. Tim Roth, Paz Vega, Parker Posey, Milo Ventimiglia, Frank Langella and Derek Jacobi also star.
